Votes for Women Wanted pot stand

"Votes for Women" was the official weekly newspaper of the Women's Social and Political Union led by Emmeline Pankhurst. It was published from 1907 until 1912 and edited and financed by husband and wife team, Emmeline and Frederick Pethick-Lawrence. This pot stand is based on a poster design by Hilda Dallas and shows a deliberately elegant-looking woman selling the newspaper (probably to counter negative misogynistic propaganda).

Specifications: Melamine pot stand with a hardboard base and durable cork backing. Heat resistant to 145 degrees centigrade as well as being scratch and stain resistant. Dimensions 160 x 160 x 6mm.
