Refugee tea towel

"Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me..."

These lines appear on the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty in New York and are as relevant today as when they were written in 1883 by Emma Lazarus. The sonnet was inspired by the writer's sympathy for refugees fleeing the violence of the Russian pogroms.
